The Flywire Challenge seeks to demonstrate how the collaboration between FinTech and educational institutions can power a new generation of entrepreneurs.




We would like to see ideas which address challenges to access to education through the use of technology and Flywire's free international collection capabilities. 



This is an entrepreneurial competition in Singapore. We are looking for innovative technology solutions for the travel, hospitality and tourism industries. Your solution should incorporate the use of Flywire's free international collection capabilities.

You may enter as an individual or as a group (up to 4 persons) and be or become eligible to work in Singapore


Our application review panel will select finalists to attend a pitch day to impress our panel of expert judges


3 winners will receive a cash prize of SGD 10,000 each, offered free rent for 1 year at the SP Jain School of Global Management’s co-working space at its Singapore campus, plus mentoring, sponsorship and access to a vast professional network

Chia Hock Lai

Singapore FinTech Association

Chia Hock Lai is passionate about how technology is transforming the way financial services are being delivered to consumers and businesses, and in the process making the financial system more efficient and inclusive.

Hock Lai has 18 years of experience in the financial industry, having performed roles in both business and technology. 

Besides being the founding president of the Singapore FinTech Association, he is also a Fellow of the Singapore University of Social Science, member of the Banking & Finance and Fund Industry panel of Nanyang Polytechnic and advisor to start-ups.

Michael Novielli

Due West Education

Michael is a Co-Founder of Due West Education, an international comprehensive education counselling company.  He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College of Columbia University, and two Master of Education degrees, one from Harvard University and another from Teachers College of Columbia University.  Prior to founding Due West Education, Michael worked at Columbia University holding several senior positions, including Assistant Director of the Student Service Center, Director of Student Outreach, and Chief of Administration for Student Auxiliary & Business Services.


Nicole Ng

Nicole Ng is a Regional Sales Manager, Southeast Asia and Hong Kong for Flywire, based in Singapore.  Nicole’s clients include leading schools and universities in Singapore, Malaysia and Hong Kong. Previously in sales and account development at technology companies based in Singapore, Nicole is a graduate of Nanyang Technological University.

Victor Pardo

Victor Pardo is Flywire’s Business Development Manager for Asia Pacific based in Singapore. Victor’s clients include businesses in a wide variety of sectors such as technology, manufacturing, events organization and travel.  Victor holds a Master’s Degree in Business from the Universidad Europea de Madrid.

Barry Leonardi

Barry Leonardi is Flywire’s Business Development Manager for Healthcare, Southeast Asia, based in Singapore.  Barry’s clients include hospitals, medical clinics and related services.  Barry graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science with a business focus from the National University of Singapore.
